terminal in the airport. Trains leave every half hour, at approximately :09 minutes and :39 minutes after the hour.Tickets cost $5.50 and are sold from machines on the platform and by conductors on the train. The first train of the day leaves the airport at 6:09 a.m., the last train at 12:09 a.m. (9 mins. after midnight).

2. Get off at Suburban Station, about a 23-minute ride. Exit the station, and once at street level, cross the street to the round visitor information building at the corner of 16th St. and JFK Blvd. (The visitor information building is a good place to get free maps!) Walk one block along JFK, keeping the park on your left, and take your next left onto 15th St. Go 2 blocks; Friends Center is at the corner of 15th and Cherry St.

On foot
If you're not carrying too much luggage, you might consider walking to the office from 30th Street Station. The walk is totally flat and takes about 10 minutes. Start in the majestic central waiting room. After admiring the architecture, exit the doors marked "29th Street." Walk straight ahead to the crosswalk, cross the street, and walk along the somewhat barren-looking JFK Blvd. toward downtown. Continue to the corner of 15th St., and take a left. Go 2 blocks; Friends Center is at the corner of 15th and Cherry St.

By cab
Total cost to the office: about $5. Simply tell the driver you're going to 1501 Cherry St.

By trolley
You can also take a trolley from the train station; it will get you about 3 blocks from the office. Total cost to the office: $1.30

1. In 30th Street Station, start in the majestic central waiting room. After admiring the architecture, walk toward the flower stand and the tall banner that reads "Food Court." Walk under the banner, and go straight down the hallway past the cafés and food stands, and exit the building through the corner door marked "30th Street."

2. Once outside, walk to the closest intersection, the corner of 30th and Market St., where you'll see an entrance to the subway -- the sign reads "Subway-Surface, Green Lines."

3. Go down the stairs into the subway. At the token booth, buy 2 tokens for $2.60. (You cannot buy just one token.) Enter the turnstiles and follow signs for trolleys inbound to Center City.

4. Take any inbound trolley. You'll get off at the 15th Street / City Hall stop, about a 5-minute ride. When you get to street level, walk north on 15th St., toward JFK Blvd. Friends Center is 3 blocks away, at the corner of 15th and Cherry St.

Image FROM THE BUS STATION
The best way to get from the bus station to the office is probably on foot; the walk should take 7 to 10 minutes. (A cab will be a bit faster and should cost $3-$5.)

1. Exit the bus station from the main door and turn right.

2. Continue on Filbert St. for 5 blocks, and turn right onto 15th St.

3. Go 2 blocks; Friends Center is at the corner of 15th and Cherry St.

Image FROM THE HIGHWAY
Follow these directions, depending on your route:
  • From I-76: Follow signs for I-676 East, which cuts through Center City. Once on 676, take the Broad Street exit, and stay in the right lane. At the top of the ramp, turn right onto 15th St. The office is 2 blocks on your right, at the corner of 15th and Cherry.
  • From the New Jersey Turnpike: Take Exit 4 and follow signs for Philadelphia - Ben Franklin Bridge. After you've crossed the bridge, get on I-676 West, which cuts through Center City. Once on I-676, take the Broad St. exit. The exit will put you southbound on 15th St. The office is 2 blocks on your right, at the corner of 15th and Cherry.
  • From I-95: Take I-95 to I-676 West, which cuts through Center City. Once on I-676, take the Broad St. exit. The exit will put you southbound on 15th St. The office is 2 blocks on your right, at the corner of 15th and Cherry.
