Nonviolent Peaceforce Logo
Could a nonviolent army really stop a war? This project wants to put the idea to the test on a large scale. The Nonviolent Peaceforce is working to develop a "standing army" of people trained in nonviolent intervention who can be sent into hot spots to prevent violence and warfare. The project envisions 2,000 active members, 4,000 reserves, and 5,000 supporters trained over a six-year period. Members will be multiethnic, international, and from diverse faiths. Training for Change is working with the Peaceforce, and with the support of the U.S. Institute for Peace, is developing a training curriculum that members of the force would someday go through.

Class Matters Logo
This is the companion website to Class Matters: Cross-Class Alliance Building for Middle-Class Activists, published by New Society Publishers in the spring of 2005. The goal of Class Matters.org is to help activists collaborate better across class lines to build stronger movements for social change.

Race Traitor Logo
A fascinating website put up by "white" folks who'd rather not be known as such. These anti-racist allies believe that "the key to solving the social problems of our age is to abolish the white race, which means no more and no less than abolishing the privileges of the white skin." Race Traitor is an intellectual center for like-minded people, and the website contains terrific articles and dialogues on racism and white identity. The site can be a bit difficult to navigate; click on their "site map" for the best overall view of the offerings.

[Leadership for Change]
LEADERSHIP FOR CHANGE: Toward a Feminist Model
By Bruce Kokopeli & George Lakey

This practical book will help you break away from old leadership forms and head toward empowering change. The book breaks leadership functions down into their component parts, listing 20 separate task and morale functions that good leaders usually perform. It then provides a framework for people who seek to do their work in new ways.
